  Fanfic Reviews~Cupcakes

Why am I putting myself through this torture?

The fanfic begins with Rainbow Dash practicing her stunts. After a little while, she remembers that Pinkie Pie had asked her to join her at Sugarcube corner. Rainbow Dash heads over to the bakery to meet Pinkie. Pinkie tells her that they are going to bake cupcakes, but ran out of her "Special ingredient". She then drugs Rainbow Dash and binds her in the basement. When Rainbow wakes up, she finds herself restrained and in a room straight out of a horror movie.  There are organs done up in pastels hanging from the ceiling, streamers made of dried entrails, the table in front of her is bade of dried bones, and "LIFE'S A PARTY" was written in the walls in blood.

Pinkie comes over to her wearing a dress made of quilted cutie marks, with six, different colored Pegasus wings fluttering on her back, and a necklace of severed unicorn horns. What follows is an incredibly gory section including hacking Dash open, Pinkie eating her raw, bloody organs, and ultimately, killing her. In the process, Pinkie reveals that she has already done this to numerous ponies, including Twist, and Dash's griffin friend Gilda.

Ultimately, this is a very gory fic, and should not be read by the faint of heart. If you are disturbed by this sort of thing, DO NOT READ IT! It left me with nightmares for several days, and practically forever ruined Pinkie Pie for me.  Instead, I suggest you read something like My Little Caboose, Blue Is Magic, but Celestia, NOTHING LIKE THIS!

However, if you are like several of my friends, and you like stuff like this, go ahead and read it. In my opinion, it's very well written and very descriptive, but not for the faint of heart. Now I realize that that's the point, so I do enjoy it, it's awesome for thrills, and is pretty much the most well-known fic in the brony community.  Cupcakes scores an 8/10.

Openings

Alright, I've been a pegasister for almost 11 months now, and I gotta say, they've been some of the best months of my life. Before I started watching the show, I was depressed, overweight, and even contemplating suicide at a few points. Then, last July, my friend CC started sending me links to the show and the songs. At first I blew it off. When I was 6, I loved the G3 my little pony, but quickly realized how stupid and childish it was. I told her that I didn't want to watch crap for two year old girls, as I thought Friendship is Magic was, at the time. My friend didn't talk to me after that.

About two weeks later, I realized that I missed her, and told what at that point was a lie, that I'd watched part of the show and love, love, loved it. She was so happy, she kept sending me songs and episodes, which I had filtered to my trash. Then, school started back up. She was so ecstatic to have a fellow pegasister. She asked me how much I had watched, and quickly mumbled that I had watched the first episode. A lie. Ya know     lyin's bad, right sugarcube? Shut up AJ, I already feel guilty. About a week later, I had run out of lies to tel, so I decided to actually watch the first episode. I rolled my eyes at the cheesy, storybook opening, but then immediately loved Twilight. I'm a total book geek, so it makes sense that I would like her. She is still my favorite pony. Aww, thanks. No prob Twi. Immediately, she reminded me of Hermione from Harry Potter, which is ironic because her name is Twilight.

I finished watching the first episode, the suspense leaving me craving to find out what was next. I watched the second part, and decided to watch the rest. I made it to episode 12 that night, and couldn't wait to tell her how much I loved it. The next night, I finished season 1. We were constantly singing the songs at school, quoting the episodes, my boyfriend thought I was insane. When we broke up, I turned to pones for comfort. We waited anxiously for season 2, and we would always watch the new episode together. Twilight is still best pony, by the way, and Cadence is best princess, closely followed by Luna. I turned my bbbff a brony, near the beginning of season 2, the first live episode he watched being Luna Eclipsed.  I've definitely become happier as a pegasister, and now have decided to do this blog as a contribution to the brony society. With new posts every two weeks, and episode reviews, heck, maybe even fanfic reviews, I hope that a) if you are a brony or pegasister, you will do the same, and b) if you are put off by the show or think that you will be made fun of for liking it, just watch it, you will find that you love it, and if you're ashamed, there are more bronies out there than you think. And there's always the closet.
